Surgery

For many years now, INTERMED has been the leading partner for ophthalmologists in the field of optoelectronic equipment, lasers and materials. INTERMED offers doctors and their assistants refraction measurement systems that combine the highest level of technical sophistication with ease of use. Our extensive range covers equipment for refraction, diagnosis and eye surgery.

PHACO-EMULSIFIER

PHACO-EMULSIFIER

The aim of cataract surgery is to remove the opacified lens. This extraction is performed by the phacoemulsifier probe, which fragments and aspirates the lens using torsional energy (OZIL) through a 2.2mm micro-incision. The arrival of these technologies on the market and of the new CENTURION platform are the fruit of a long-standing collaboration between INTERMED, practitioners and ALCON Laboratories.
LENS IMPLANTS

LENS IMPLANTS

After extraction of the opacified crystalline lens, it is replaced by an Intraocular Lens (IOL). INTERMED continues to offer its users the latest generation of IOLs: the flexible, foldable ACRYSOF (ALCON Laboratories), with its unrivalled material. This lens is the most widely implanted in the world, and is available in mono-focal, multifocal and toric versions.
PLATFORM FOR VITREORETINAL SURGERY

PLATFORM FOR VITREORETINAL SURGERY

Vitreoretinal surgery is surgery on the posterior segment of the eye, focusing primarily on the retina. This specialty requires the use of specific tools and products, and it is in this area that technical and material developments are most significant, thanks to the arrival of the new CONSTELLATION platform. INTERMED offers a full range of associated accessories and consumables.
OPERATING MICROSCOPE

OPERATING MICROSCOPE

INTERMED offers you the first choice of microscopes for ophthalmic surgery, for fast set-up, enhanced vision and reduced operating time.
LASERS

LASERS

INTERMED has been supplying lasers for every therapeutic indication for many years. One of the latest technological advances now enables faster, less painful treatment of retinal pathologies with a multispot laser scanner (photo opposite). Two such lasers have already been installed by INTERMED in New Caledonia.
