AHH / Returning home: How to equip your home?

Jul 3, 2018 Intermed

INTERMED's Boutique Santé offers a range of solutions for daily living, representing the INVACARE, VERMEIREN, HARTMANN, SYSTAM and SAINT ROMAIN brands. Following hospitalization, the layout of the home needs to be optimized.

In bathrooms, toilets and other areas with smooth surfaces: suction-mounted or fixed grab bars.

In addition to grab bars, use a toilet riser. It makes it easier to get in and out of the toilet by raising the toilet seat.

For the shower, we have several seat models for optimum comfort and safety.

The pierced chair model (with or without castors) is ideal if the person has difficulty getting around. Height-adjustable with an original 3-in-1 design, it can be used in the toilet, bedroom or shower.

Its modular design allows the patient to adapt the chair to his or her environment: the direction of the bucket's retraction can be adjusted (sideways or forwards/backwards).

Available with removable backrest and armrests to facilitate showering and transfers. Legs feature either suction cups (for greater stability) or wheels for mobility.

For incontinence and bladder weakness, HARTMANN laboratories offer a complete, discreet and comfortable range. It includes mobile briefs, scratch diapers, sanitary towels, penis shells and mattress pads. Different models (from XS to XL), for night and day.

For the bedroom: opt for a healthcare bed with a pressure-sore mattress, specially recommended for people who are bedridden or convalescing at home. There are also bedsore prevention cushions for wheelchair seats and backrests. These are usually referred to as positioning cushions.

As a complement, you can install a table with castors, for eating at the right height or for reading.

In the living room: equip your room with a lift chair. It's designed to provide therapeutic support for people with weakening muscle tone. Its curved backrest supports the back and lumbar region. What's more, the electrically-controlled tilt makes the user totally autonomous.

For indoor and outdoor use: several options are available. There's the classic folding and articulating walker, 3-wheeled or 4-wheeled walkers: with a basket included and the option of sitting on it. Last but not least, the BOBBY transfer chair is practical, lightweight (11kg) and compact.

With all this advice, the return home can now take place more serenely. Please contact our sales team for any further information you may require on Hospitalisation à Domicile (HAD) equipment. CONTACT US
