MEDICAL Z support for burns

Sep 23, 2019 Intermed

There are 20,000 child victims of domestic accidents every year in France, 31% of which are due to burns. New Caledonia is running a large-scale risk prevention campaign among the local population. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as zero risk...

Intermed works closely with Medipole's pediatricians to provide burned children with solutions to improve healing. Our supplier, Medical Z, offers high-quality compression garments. These are essential for reducing inflammation and edema. Every patient is unique, and so is every garment. All products are made to measure, in breathable, UV-resistant technological fabrics.

The Intermed company offers a service that is as close as possible to the patient, by attending pediatric consultations to take the patient's measurements, fitting clothes at the Medipole or at the parents' home, and providing follow-up care for the children.

The indications for full coverage by CAFAT are :
- Extensive 2nd degree and 3rd degree burns.
- Lesions exceeding 10% of the body surface.
- Lesions on the hands, face, neck or flexion folds.
- For all children under 16, regardless of lesion location.
Patients are entitled to a set of 2 garments over a 6-month period, renewable 3 times. Children under 16 are entitled to 1 set of 2 garments every 3 months.

We remind you that the home is the first place where accidents happen, and urge parents to always be vigilant.
